I'm still here

Just haven't been feeling the creative bug lately. I'm sure I'll get to a project soon. In the meantime, enjoy:

That's Jack a year ago.

And that's my niece Kieran, pic taken yesterday.

Hope the cute tides you over 'til I have something more interesting.

New Year's Eve 2010

Okay, so this post is not really about anything I made. I just really loved the outfit I wore for NYE, and feel it needs a shout-out. I was trying to get a skirt made to wear, but decided the stress wasn't worth it. Not to mention that it's been about 35 degrees at night, so pants seemed like a good option. See below:

Zoom in. You should.

Jacket: H&M--I made a lot of new friends because of this jacket. I tried it on and fell in love. I have never gotten so many compliments as I have with this jacket.

Top: FCUK--I love French Connection. Unfortunately, I can't afford much there, but this silk tank is awesome.

Jeans: Nordstrom--these are a black rinse; I have the same ones in a dark blue rinse.

Bracelet: Forever 21. Ha. It's from my Lady Gaga Halloween costume, and it's just fun.

Shoes: Michael Kors. OMG, can we talk about these shoes! They are 4 1/2 inches tall, grey snake print.

I walked up and down the aisles at Nordstrom Rack in these. They may not be ideal for traipsing around downtown, but they are hot.

Anyway, like I said, nothing I made, but some pieces I love. Also, I got my hair done. What do you think?

Baby crafts!

This is my niece, Kieran. She is 5 1/2 months old, and she is the cutest baby I've ever seen. I'm her favorite aunt. I tell her that every time I see her. This is one of her pre-Christmas pictures. She's wearing a headband that Auntie Jen crocheted. FYI--baby headbands=super easy.

For her Christmas outfit, she was in need of a hat to keep her hairless baby head warm. My sister and I went through a bunch of baby hat patterns, and finally settled on this one. It's the little tam on the right. Being that she has a red wool coat with black buttons, I decided on red flannel with black ribbon and pom pom.

It fits a little better now, and I used black buttons on the sides to keep the ribbon from fraying or slipping. It was so cute with her gray dress and red shoes.

Oh, and I made her another headband for that outfit, as well. Babies deserve to be fashionable, too!

She's a great little model, and I can't wait until she's big enough to start crafting. Happy New Year, everyone! Hope 2011 is full of joy for you all.

And happy holidays from Kieran and her penguin!
